Johnson advocates a boycott of Tampa to address how officials in that city are treating Black folk. He said the city’s [[[is it citywide, countywide or statewide? ]]] housing voucher program moves people out, but prohibits people with felonies from moving into new housing.
He said prisons are a source for cheap labor and that authorities are quicker to build prisons than they are to build schools, with an additional layer of this problem being the privatization of prisons.
Johnson said the money that comes from the sale of the property related to illegal drug dealing should go into the communities instead of into police departments.
Johnson said he is fighting to save his business from ending up in the hands of Tampa officials.
