A friend just posted a link about Burger King admitting to serving horse meat. How is serving horse meat any more of an outrage than serving meat and dairy that comes from chickens and pigs who’ve gone thru misery in factory farms?——–
We’re all works-in-progress in terms of being consistent with our principles, but many progressives who take stands for compassion and justice as it pertains humans have yet to extent it to include our nonhuman brothers and sisters who are tortured and slaughtered by the billions yearly.——
If we, as progressives, want to boycott and divest from Israel (or boycott and divest from fossil fuel industries as suggested by activist Bill McKibben), why not also boycott and divest ourselves from the meat and dairy industries ?
—- Or if not that, why not at least boycott and divest from factory farmed products, while putting our dollars into organic meat and dairy businesses that strive to give the animals a better (if not good) life ?
——These aren’t rhetorical questions. I’m trying to understand the mentality of some of my fellow progressives. Thanks
