Anti-racism, white supremacy and fascism

The following quote from Waldron Bello’s Nov 10 article in Foreign Policy in Focus calls to mind how important it is for white people to proactively and persistently advocate for multiracial democracy, in terms of economics and in terms of politics, such as opposing the ongoing Republican-led massive voter suppression against black Americans, among many other arenas of opposing systemic racism. Those efforts matter if we want to prevent our country from becoming an ethno-nationalist dictatorship with massive impoverishment and extreme inequality.

“History has shown that when large social groups no longer feel they can win by democratic elections, the temptation towards extra-parliamentary solutions becomes very tempting. As the aggregate minority population in the U.S. moves toward parity in numbers with the white population over the next few decades, white nationalism is likely to become more rather than less popular among whites of all ages and across gender lines.”
