Subconscious sexism impedes my romance with women ? Maybe I’ve subconsciously viewed women as having less intellectual depth than men and thereby have bonded less with them and have thought their company wouldn’t nourish me mentally as much as the company of men

As bi myself, coming out matters because, thru knowledge, we can build communities that are more compassionate and loving. —-Much of the support for sexuality-based and gender-based barriers to self-realization comes from organized religion, which, in turn, is increasingly at odds with our knowledge of nature. —-We are part of nature, whether we are gay, bi, straight, trans, queer or pre-queer 🙂 In light of that, I’d suggest morality should be a matter of dedicating ourselves to learning the truth and sharing that truth with one another, instead of dedicating ourselves to belief. ——So, this truth-telling by Josh and Kristen is important. —— Sharing knowledge is vital to human community, whether it pertains to how and who we love, or to how life on Earth developed and is at risk of extinction. ——–Hatred feeds on fear and fear feeds on ignorance. —– This thread that Josh started is refreshingly affirming , but many of our queer brothers and sisters in some countries in Africa and the Middle East face life imprisonment or the death penalty. —– Yet despite such oppression, in human societies all over the planet, we see people defying traditional gender and sexuality roles. —– That might be due to the ever increasing urbanization of the human population. —— As an evolutionary process of humans adapting to our environment, I wonder whether the ‘queering’ of our species will lead to more flexibility for self-love and for loving others.—- The world needs more love. More options would be good. —— I wonder whether that greater flexibility for how and who we love might continue into a possibly less urbanized future civilization that might exist in the wake of a collapse of industrial societies. ——– Who knows ? It’s not me. At any rate, this day of coming out reminds me of part of being ‘queer’ is about doing away with rigid notions of masculinity that involve a mentality of domination and exploitation, of women, children and humans in general, as well as non-human animals, and of the planet.
