Suggest we distinguish between: (1) actions where people put themselves at risk in order to stand up against, if not defeat injustice, and (2) situations where we— from the relative comfort of our marches, rallies, and laptops—-express our opinions about the world, sometimes preaching and talking down to those who don’t agree with us.
Situation (1) involves people such as (A) Tim DeChristopher; (B) Dahr Jamail as an un-embedded reporter in Iraq; (C ) people getting arrested for interrupting MTR or fracking; (D) people risking prosecution by video recording inside factory farms; (E ) people humbly but persistently and without recognition helping some of those in need; and gladly the list goes on and on.
Won’t assume this will work for others, but suspect to use love-not-hate.org to get myself to situation (1). Agape might promote courage. Admit to having a long way to go when it comes to that. Might be worthwhile to find out the details about how to get to and stay in stage (1)
