As I make plans for the US Social Forum, and am trying to find a way to get lodging and pay for my food and transportation, an idea I get is that there is something ironic about this situation. What’s ironic is that the US Social Forum is an event with has as one of its themes addressing social justice issues.

As I caught myself considering whether to further increase my credit card debt my charging money so that I can attend the US Social Forum, it occurred to me that a key part of addressing social justice issues is me coming to terms with my own financial limits.

To what extent does it make sense to lose about $600-800 via not working my waiter job on the weekend of the Allied Media Conference and the weekend of the US Social Forum ?

What I may do instead is participate in the US Social Forum Tuesday, Weds, and Thurs, returning to Columbus late Thursday or early Friday. I may also resort to driving to and from the event.
