One idea is that the political and other freedoms we have in the US are in jeopardy due to, among other threats, the concentration of wealth and power via corporatocracy.
Also, you might say that the freedoms we have in the US aren’t something just to brag about and to use for saying how our country is better than other countries, but that we must exercise our freedoms in order to stand up against the abuse of power.
Too often people point out how good we got it here in the US as a way to try to discredit protesters and other activists. The love-it-or-leave-it mentality doesn’t make sense, given how our nation’s founders were revolutionaries.
