Listening

Given the prevalence of talking at, instead of talking to or talking with that we find in comments to articles online, and the talking  past one another that occurs on many TV news programs, I might make myself more useful by honing the art and science of genuine listening.

This should occur in public, because there may be a creative dynamic from engaging strangers not found otherwise.

It may be lovingly kind to genuinely listen when people say what they care about. Thorough listening is not necessarily agreeing, but better agreements and better disagreements are formed thru listening.

How can I agree or disagree with you if I haven’t digested what you’ve communicated?
