It’s common of proponents of a cause to see it as the ultimate goal in and of itself. My veganism resulted from me striving for spiritual love and truth. But veganism, per se, is not my ultimate goal. It’s a means.
I’m not even sure it’s a means to any ultimate goal. Instead of an ultimate goal, it may be a matter of doing my best to engage in a process, a state of intention, in which I strive –albeit imperfectly–to realize my potential for spiritual love and truth, with the latter being in service to the former.
