Cycling notes

I would change some of what I’ve written on this and other threads about cycling. Now, I’d say the most satisfying and least unsafe cycling is more a matter of constantly cooperating with everyone around me–motorists, other cyclists, pedestrians, people in wheel-chairs, people with babies in strollers, and so on—than it is a matter of adhering to a set of rules and laws. For example, motorists passing from behind seem to prefer a quick turn of my head as acknowledgement. But, regardless, Shawn’s experience could be my own.
